Empower rural Women through social green entrepreneurship

Rural women have been increasingly running their (social) enterprises yet their socioeconomic contributions have failed to be recognized. Beyond income generation, entrepreneurship can legitimize rural women’s control over resources; this is important since women invest more in food and healthcare for their families and their children’s education (World Bank). We see disparities in where income goes based on the priorities of females and males.
Organizations like the Women Entrepreneurship Development Association of Zambia enable access to marketing training opportunities and investors to instil confidence and stability in females working to build stronger rural economies.
Diesis wants to take some time to acknowledge the benefit of female entrepreneurs in rural areas on local economies through the implementation of the #WEGREEN Project which addresses the need for transforming the EU economy into a green one and developing new skills required for both green jobs and green entrepreneurship in the rural area, using digitalization and
#SocialEconomy models.

Skills4Integration (S4I) First Newsletter

The project Skills4Integration aims to develop a Training Manual for volunteers working with refugees and migrants to support their Literacy Numeracy, digital skills and eventually their integration into the labour market.
The training manual will be provided in 6 languages: English, Dutch, French, Greek, Portuguese, and Finish. The training manual will offer a teaching model to volunteer trainers, which aims to promote the social, educational and professional integration of low-skilled adult migrants and refugees in their host countries, developing their literacy, numeracy and digital skills.
These skills become necessary for the learners’ empowerment so that they can participate constructively in the social and economic life of their hosting country and improve their autonomy. The training manual will offer a comprehensive, volunteer-based tutoring model for volunteer trainers through the professional and user-friendly WebApp being developed as another result.

EMPATISE E-brochure

The project aims to empower high school teachers and educators working with lowperforming students to reduce school retention rates in rural and disadvantaged areas. Through an innovative, tailored program based on 'learning by doing' and bottom-up, community-based approaches, the project will transform teachers into change-makers within the current educational system. The methodology, founded on non-formal education, peer learning, and 'learning by doing' approaches, was developed with consideration for weaknesses in local public systems.
