About the Role

The Social Media & Communications Intern will help strengthen SYNTHESIS’ digital presence by creating engaging content that showcases EU-funded projects and amplifies the organization’s mission for social innovation, education, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and execution of SYNTHESIS’ communication and visibility strategy across social media channels (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and X).

  • Create, design, and schedule social media posts, graphics, and short videos that align with SYNTHESIS’ brand and EU communication guidelines.

  • Collaborate with project partners, community organizations, and digital advocates or influencers to amplify project results and success stories.

  • Identify opportunities for cross-promotion, partnerships, or online campaigns within the European social innovation ecosystem.

  • Draft and edit content for newsletters, blogs, and press releases highlighting EU-funded initiatives and their outcomes.

  • Monitor social media insights and engagement trends, preparing simple analytics summaries to inform strategy.

  • Assist in preparing communication materials for EU project dissemination (posters, infographics, short videos).

  • Support photography, videography, and event coverage (online or in-person).

  • Maintain brand voice and visual consistency across all platforms.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Design, or a related field.

  • Excellent writing and editing skills in English (Greek is a plus).

  • Familiarity with social media management, content creation, and audience engagement.

  • Proficiency with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools.

  • Basic understanding of analytics tools (Meta Insights, LinkedIn Analytics, etc.).

  • Creative mindset with an interest in visual storytelling and community engagement.

  • Interest in social impact, sustainability, and EU-funded initiatives.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, able to work both independently and as part of a multicultural team.

  • Experience collaborating with influencers, digital advocates, or online campaigns for social good will be considered an advantage.
